The 2017 Grammys are underway and they’re already an emotional event.
2016 was a year jam-packed with incredible music, but we also lost many talented performers as well, one of those being country music star Joey Feek.
Joey was diagnosed with cancer in 2014 and relapsed in 2015 after a short remission. Sadly, she passed away on March 4, 2016. But not before releasing Hymns That Are Important To Us with her husband Rory Feek.
The couple detailed Joey’s last moments very publicly on social media, sharing these interactions with their fans to give a glimpse into their journey.
In the year since her death, Rory has been vocal about his love for his wife and honoring her memory in all that he does.
This happened once more at the 59th Annual Grammy Awards, as the pair won the Grammy for best roots gospel album, the couple’s first Grammy.
Joey made Rory promise her that he’d attend the award ceremony if they were nominated and Rory kept his promise. In his speech, he shared this story and tearfully dedicated the award to his late wife.
Please SHARE this with all of your friends and family that love Joey+Rory to honor her memory!
