Jaxon Lopez was an unpredictable youngster. The curious 3-year-old always seemed to be on the move.
One day, he was leaving his grandmother’s house with his mom when he spotted something strange. If he hadn’t spoken up, things would have been very different today.
His mother went out to the car for a minute, and he followed her outside. He walked over to the next-door0neighbor’s house and took a peek inside the garage. There, he saw an older woman passed out on the ground, bleeding.
Suddenly, his mom, Kelsea Sprouse, heard him crying, “Help! Help!” from the neighbor’s yard.
In the video below, posted on March 1, 2017, Kelsea recalls, “So next thing I know, Jaxon is running into the neighbor’s yard, over here where the tree is, and that’s when I really realized what was going on.”
Kelsea then told Jaxon to run back to his grandma’s house and tell her the next-door neighbor needed help.
Little Jaxon pounded on her door in a panic. His grandmother, Danette “Ganny” Lopez, answered and was alarmed by what happened next.
“He’s like, ‘Ganny, neighbor, help!” And he grabs my wrist and he’s pulling me to the door,” Danette remembers. Thankfully, the family was able to call the police and have the injured neighbor taken to the hospital to seek treatment for severe dehydration. The neighbor called him her hero.
When Kelsea took Jaxon to get a reward for his hard work, he opted to get his grandma’s recovering neighbor some flowers instead.
