After the recent bad weather in Virginia Beach, residents are scrambling to pick up the pieces and recover from the damage storms caused in the area.
But what a man named Brandon Liburd wanted the most was for beloved dog Izzy to be found safe and sound. They two got separated in the midst of a tornado that ravaged the area.
He turned to the news for help in finding Izzy. He asked anyone and everyone for help, encouraging those who may have a clue about her whereabouts to let him know.
The next morning, Wes Warstler watched Brandon’s story. About half an hour later, his dogs started barking at a crack in the fence.
Behind it, there was a dog who wasn’t his.
He immediately recognized the pooch as the one he had seen on the news. She was clearly scared. He didn’t want to get too close so she wouldn’t run away, but he stayed close by and called the station, and for someone to pick up the dog so that she could go home.
In a matter of hours, Izzy and Brandon were happily reunited, all thanks to the Good Samaritan’s keen eye and his kindness. If he hadn’t taken the time to stay with Izzy or to make a phone call, who knows where she would have ended up.
