Gather Up Your Old, Mismatched Teacups, Then Totally Transform Them Into Mini Herb Gardens

Want to start your summer right? Learn to make a gorgeous teacup herb garden perfect for your kitchen windowsill!

Everyone loves having fresh herbs around, so it’s nice to have a few growing fresh in your own kitchen.

In the past, we’ve experimented with vertical versions that stack herbs on top of one another, but those are sometimes better in outdoor spaces.

Not only are these teacup herb gardens perfect for indoors, they also put to use any mismatched teacups that you have hanging around. For larger plants, you can even use a coffee mug!

Goodness knows we all have a few extra pieces of bric-a-brac around the house; this is the perfect way to make it useful!

Materials:

  • Rocks
  • Potting soil
  • Teacup
  • Seeds or seedling
  • Paper tags
  • Floral wire

Instructions:

  1. Line the bottom of an old teacup with rocks, then pack with potting soil to about 1/2 and inch below the brim.
  2. Make a small divot in the soil and plant seeds, or make a large hole and plant seedling. Water.
  3. Make paper tags identifying the herbs, then hang from edge of cup with floral wire.
  4. Pick as needed and enjoy!
