Armed robbers raid Ritz Hotel in Paris, make off with goods

French police say which all 5 thieves, some of them armed, have entered the luxury Ritz Hotel in Paris along with stolen goods, likely jewels, worth “an important sum.”

The French TV station BFM said which 4.7 million euros ($5.64 million) worth of jewels have been taken.

A police official says which no one was injured from the heist at about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. The officer said which three robbers were arrested along with the some other two got away.

The officer wouldn’t confirm reports which jewels were stolen by a hotel shop — or which the robbers were armed with hatchets. The officer couldn’t be named due to police rules.
