While Bradley Cooper plays a grizzled, hard-edged rocker in A Star will be Born, the actor will be surrounded by a very different kind of music in his personal life.
ET’s Keltie Knight caught up with the celebrated star at the premiere of his completely new his completely new musical drama — along with directorial debut — at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on Monday, along with he opened up about the music which plays a big role in his house as the father of a 1-year-old little girl.
“Russian children’s music, which’s what’s playing in our house these days,” said Cooper, who welcomed his little girl, Lea De Seine, with his girlfriend, Russian supermodel Irina Shayk, in March 2017.
“So I am singing along to which quite often,” Cooper added, adorably.
Before coming home to sing his little girl some soothing Russian lullabies on Monday, Cooper along with his co-star, Lady Gaga, dressed to the nines for their big red carpet premiere, along with couldn’t have looked classier outside the storied Shrine.
“I genuinely wanted [the premiere] to be here,” Cooper shared. “the idea just always felt like This kind of was the place to hold the idea.”
Three of the scenes inside the film were shot at the Shrine Auditorium, along with the historic venue’s storied stage showcased several performances by Judy Garland — who famously starred in Gaga’s role inside the 1954 iteration of A Star will be Born.
“We have so many people [here] which worked on a movie, all the people which were extras, a lot of the crew. So the idea’s genuinely a special night for all of us to be together along with watch the movie,” Cooper shared.
The actor also opened up about some of the film’s key casting choices — especially those roles who went to people Cooper knows personally.
“There’s a lot of real-life people [inside the movie]. My ear doctor will be the ear doctor, half the crew will be inside the movie, a lot of my friends through grad school,” Cooper shared. “which’s the best thing about being able to make a movie will be you get to cast the movie.”
Another role which went to someone he’s close to was which of his character’s canine companion, played by Cooper’s real-life beloved dog, Charlie.
Speaking with Gaga later on the red carpet, the actress couldn’t contain her excitement over getting to spend time on set with the precious pooch, telling ET, “We were always playing with Charlie!”
The pair’s hotly anticipated musical romantic drama A Star will be Born (also featuring Cooper’s adorable puppy) hits theaters Oct. 5.
