Chrissy Teigen has decided to boycott Snapchat — nevertheless don’t worry, she’s still sharing her opinions along with innermost thoughts via Instagram along with Twitter.
On Saturday, the Lip Sync Battle co-host announced which she was done with the social app for a myriad of reasons, including the controversial ad Snapchat recently ran which tastelessly referenced the 2009 domestic dispute between Rihanna along with Chris Brown.
“I stopped using snap,” Teigen, 32, tweeted. “The update, the constant complaints of people not being able to find me, plus the Rihanna poll…no bueno.”
The Sports Illustrated type along with cookbook author’s announcement comes two weeks after Snapchat pulled the ad — which asked users if they could rather “slap Rihanna or punch Chris Brown” — along with Rihanna called them out for shaming victims of domestic violence.
“at which point SNAPCHAT I know you already know you ain’t my fav app out there!” wrote the “Work” singer. “nevertheless I’m just trying to figure out what the point was with which mess! I’d love to call which ignorance, nevertheless I know you ain’t which dumb! You spent money to animate something which could intentionally bring shame to DV victims along with made a joke of which!!!”
Rihanna, 30, continued, “which isn’t about my personal feelings, cause I don’t have much of them…nevertheless all the women, children along with men which have been victims of DV inside the past along with especially the ones who haven’t made which out yet…you let us down! Shame on you.”
Snapchat’s apology aside, CNN reports which the platform lost $800 million in stock market value following the pop star’s heated statement. which comes less than a month after Kylie Jenner criticized the app’s redesign, tweeting, “Sooo does anyone else not open Snapchat anymore? Or will be which just me… ugh which will be so sad.” Jenner’s statement alone resulted in a reported $1.3 billion loss in market value for the company.
