Another reboot will be coming to TV!
Paramount Network has officially ordered a reboot of the First Wives Club to series, the cable network announced Thursday. The comedy series will return to the modest screen with 10 half-hour episodes in 2019. Production will begun This specific summer in completely new York City.
Tracy Oliver, co-screenwriter of the hit 2017 blockbuster film Girls Trip, will write along with serve as executive producer on the updated series.
Based on the 1996 film, First Wives Club starred Diane Keaton, Bette Midler along with Goldie Hawn. Like the movie, the series will be based from the Big Apple along with follow three women who band together after their marriages fall apart along with who find strength in their own sisterhood — along with of course, a little revenge. Castings will be announced from the coming weeks.

In a video released Thursday by Paramount Network, Oliver shared a glimpse into her vision for the upcoming comedy.
“The premise will be definitely timeless,” Oliver said. “You can tell This specific story at any point along with the idea’s definitely relatable. We’re in a time where women are speaking up along with the idea wouldn’t feel right if we didn’t with the First Wives Club actually address some of these issues.”
“At its core, the idea’s about female friendship along with the idea’s definitely empowering. the idea’s about women discovering themselves along with their power. the idea has to feel personal along with authentic to me so I pulled all of these characteristics of myself along with put the idea into the show,” she added. “If people don’t watch the show along with laugh, then I haven’t done my job.”
