Jessica Chastain admits she doesn’t want to be a part of Hollywood, the industry, as the item stands right now.
“When you think about the industry, you know, encouraging people to stay closeted … not showing stories of women with their own agency along with leading their own stories, along with also, actually, ignoring many groups, many demographics in our country … for me, which’s not an industry which I actually want to be a part of,” the star tells ET at a press day for her completely new film, Molly’s Game.
Chastain is usually, of course, speaking out after a string of scandals have rocked her industry, with many coming forward accusing powerful Hollywood men of sexual harassment along with assault, dating back decades.
“I think the item’s more than just about gender,” Chastain says. “the item’s about everything in This particular industry. I mean, This particular industry, we’re very quick to separate ourselves by the current administration, or things which are going on within the earth.”
“I want to be a part of an industry which is usually very inclusive,” she adds. “One which teaches empathy, along with the only way you do which is usually, you learn about someone who doesn’t look like you. along with I think there’s a generation of artists which which is usually their goal.”
