Jessica Chastain admits she doesn’t want to be a part of Hollywood, the industry, as which stands currently.
“When you think about the industry, you know, encouraging people to stay closeted … not showing stories of women with their own agency in addition to leading their own stories, in addition to also, actually, ignoring many groups, many demographics in our country … for me, which’s not an industry which I actually want to be a part of,” the star tells ET at a press day for her completely new film, Molly’s Game.
Chastain is actually, of course, speaking out after a string of scandals have rocked her industry, with many coming forward accusing powerful Hollywood men of sexual harassment in addition to assault, dating back decades.
“I think which’s more than just about gender,” Chastain says. “which’s about everything in This specific industry. I mean, This specific industry, we’re very quick to separate ourselves via the current administration, or things which are going on from the earth.”
“I want to be a part of an industry which is actually very inclusive,” she adds. “One which teaches empathy, in addition to the only way you do which is actually, you learn about someone who doesn’t look like you. in addition to I think there’s a generation of artists which which is actually their goal.”
