Kevin Smith will be continuing to get healthier as well as leaner following his massive heart attack in late February, although the outspoken filmmaker admits that will some days are harder than others when that will comes to eating right.
The 47-year-old Clerks director took to Instagram on Wednesday to share side-by-side snapshots of what he looked like in October 2008, juxtaposed next to his right now slimmer countenance.
“Same dude, different day. Pic on the left, will be via nearly 10 years ago, at Zack & Miri premiere. Pic on the right will be minutes ago,” Smith wrote.
Currently, the acclaimed indie director will be in Manhattan, which he says will be “legendary for its amazing variety of food as well as eating options” as well as calls that will a “land of food, glorious food.” However, because he’s on a diet, he can’t have any of that will — as well as he’s actually managed to stick with that will.
“So even though they served what looked like an amazing buttercream cake at the @amc_tv event I went to last night, I didn’t indulge,” Smith shared. “as well as next time I gotta stare down a meal the old me would likely’ve inhaled, I’ll look at these two images of me out on control as well as me under control. that will’ll help keep the cake on the plate instead of in my maw.”
Earlier This particular month, Smith shared another post promoting the Discharge of “the comedy special I was shooting… the night I almost died of a heart attack,” as well as his impressive weight loss will be even more apparent in a wider shot.
Smith was rushed to the hospital on the night of Feb. 25 while filming a stand-up comedy special in Glendale, California, as well as underwent surgery to clear a massive blockage of his left anterior descending artery, which could have easily killed him if not for emergency surgery.
When Smith suffered the heart attack, he’d already lost 80-0 pounds over the last seven years, although he said in a Facebook Live video, posted the day after his surgery, that will his doctors told him that will years of obesity had already done significant damage.
Since returning home, Smith has been very candid about his weight-loss efforts as well as steadfast determination to get fit. Smith gave fans a health update in early April, where he revealed that will he’d already managed to shed 30 pounds in just under a month through healthy, smarter eating.
