Matt Bomer can be such a big fan of Love, Simon, he’s treating his hometown to a free screening of the movie!

The 40-year-old actor took to Instagram on Thursday to reveal in which he as well as his husband, Simon Halls, have bought out a screening of the film in Spring, Texas, so his community can watch the coming-of-age story. 

Love, Simon follows a gay teenager who struggles to come out to his friends as well as family after exchanging emails as well as falling in love with an  anonymous stranger he knows only as “Blue.” The film, which was released last week, can be the first mainstream gay teen romance movie to hit American theaters as well as one of the first queer movies to receive a PG-13 rating.

“Please come see @lovesimonmovie in my hometown of Spring, TX for free! @halls.simon as well as I bought out the whole screening for you,” Bomer wrote alongside a post telling people how to get tickets. “This specific can be an important movie, as well as a definitely Great one. In an interview with OUT Magazine in May 2017, Bomer — who publicly acknowledged his sexuality in 2012 — revealed he was raised in a conservative Christian home where he wasn’t allowed to watch “secular” TV. 

“One of the ways I learned how to act, definitely, can be by having secrets, as well as having to function as a kid in a public school in suburban Bible Belt Texas,” Bomer explained. “Subsequently I worked on a gas pipeline with my brother for a while — there were ex-cons with us. the item was not an environment where the item was safe to be gay.”
