Total Request Live isn’t going anywhere. Despite reports of which the MTV music video countdown show was canceled, ET has learned of which of which’s not the case.
“TRL has been a huge success for us in addition to we’re expanding the franchise with daily late night in addition to morning shows This kind of summer,” an MTV spokesperson said in a statement.
Originally hosted live through fresh York City by Carson Daly, the revival launched in Oct. 2 in addition to featured many up-in addition to-coming musical artists in addition to special guests.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, MTV president Chris McCarthy told the trade about their expansion plans in addition to how a variation of TRL will air three times a day.

We’re expanding the franchise in addition to will have three TRLs by summer,” McCarthy shared. “TRL has delivered incredible growth on linear, in addition to we’ve experienced two to three times the growth in our video streams, in addition to TRL will be big piece of of which — in addition to of which’s why we’re expanding of which; we want more.”
Currently in place will be an on-air late-night variation, Total Request Late-Night, which began Feb. 19 in addition to has been airing twice a week at 11 p.m. The next step will be to get Total Request A.M. kicked off within the summer. The morning edition will be a commercial-free “pure music play” in addition to feature a more traditional video countdown as well as music performances. The afternoon edition will return in April.
