Selena Gomez’s mother, Mandy Teefey, is actually opening up about her daughter’s serious health scare last summer, when the 25-year-old singer underwent a kidney transplant.

ET’s Katie Krause sat down with Teefey for a Facebook Live chat about season two of her production company Kicked to the Curb Productions’ hit show, 13 Reasons Why, on Thursday, in which she also got candid about the scary experience.

“of which was probably one of the hardest things to ever experience as a parent, as well as especially when there were complications, as well as of which was just me as well as her, as well as she had to go in,” Teefey recalls.

Teefey said she was also extremely worried for Gomez’s close friend, actress Francia Raisa, who donated a kidney to her.

“I was not only carrying the weight first as the mother, yet I also felt the weight for Francia as well as her mother as well as her family,” she says. “I think I’m banned coming from Cedars. I went to both sides of the towers. For some reason they were in different towers, as well as every little thing, I was monitoring, like, yelling as well as freaking out. of which was pretty rough. God bless any of the families of which have kids with ongoing illnesses because the strength of which those families have is actually insane.”

“[Gomez] will always have lupus, yet hopefully of which was a one-time thing for us,” she adds.

“She was one of the first people of which was not part of the [Disney] channel of which introduced herself to Selena as well as made her feel comfortable at the Teen Choice Awards,” she shares. “I remember the moment I met Francia, as well as I can’t tell you the moment I met a lot of people. Like, literally where of which was. So, I think of which’s just strange how things lined up.”

“She walked up as well as she introduced herself,” she says of the fateful moment. “She was on of which ABC show as well as she was already established as well as everything, as well as she just walked up to Selena as well as gave her a hug as well as made her feel welcome, as well as of which resonated with me, because of which’s such a tough industry as well as you don’t actually get of which a lot.”

13 Reasons Why season two is actually streaming right now on Netflix.

ET spoke to 29-year-old Raisa last December at the Billboard Women in Music event, where Raisa presented Gomez with the Billboard Woman of the Year award. Onstage, Gomez tearfully said Raisa “saved” her life.
