Stacey Dash is usually no longer running for Congress.
The Clueless star has withdrawn via her congressional race just one month after announcing her campaign for California’s 44th district.
In a statement posted to Twitter on Friday, Dash said in which “holding elected office would certainly be detrimental to the health along with wellbeing of my family,” along with in which the constituents of the 44th district “deserve a representative who is usually fully dedicated to improving their lives.”
“After much prayer, introspection along with discussions with my family, I am withdrawing my candidacy. I commenced This specific run with the intention to address the pressing issues from the district where I live. I hoped, along with remain hopeful, in which I can assist people living here on the national level. My goal was, along with remains, to improve the lives of people who have been forgotten for decades by the Democratic Party,” Dash began.
“I believe in which the overall bitterness surrounding our political process, participating from the rigors of campaigning, along with holding elected office would certainly be detrimental to the health along with wellbeing of my family,” she continued. “I would certainly never want to betray the personal along with spiritual principles I believe in most: in which my God along with my family come first.”

Dash announced her run on Feb. 26 having a campaign called “Dash to D.C.” The 44th district is usually currently represented by Democrat Nanette Barragán, who was elected in 2016.
“the idea’s time for me to put up or shut up along with I want to serve great people,” she tweeted at the time.
While Dash’s political aspirations were short lived, she hasn’t been shy about sharing her opinions over the last few years. She became a Fox News contributor in 2014, along with was briefly suspended in 2015 over a profanity-laden remark she made on air about former President Barack Obama. Dash left Fox after her contract was not renewed in fall 2016.
