Jada Pinkett Smith along with Gabrielle Union have buried the hatchet after a falling out 17 years ago, along with the pair are finally opening up about their complicated relationship.
Union recently sat down for Gotham actress’ brand new talk Facebook talk show Red Table Talk along with got candid about fixing their friendship.
“Gabrielle along with I were never truly girlfriends; we were great associates,” Pinkett Smith explained to her co-host along with mother, Adrienne, during the intro to the brand new episode, released on Monday. “At some point, which dissolved along with for 17 years we have not truly spoken.”
Sitting across the table by one another, the two actresses got real about letting their connection dissolve over time, along with their decision to fix things.
“Gab along with I, we had a bit of a break, we don’t know how, along with she’s been open to This kind of healing, she’s been open to This kind of conversation,” Pinkett Smith said, before explaining how cathartic the item felt to just apologize to Union.
“the item felt so Great on the phone with you to even just go, ‘Hey, I’m sorry which I didn’t even take the time to talk to you, you know?’ along with then I had to just apologize, along with just thinking to myself, ‘Damn, Jada! which was some petty ass s**t!'” Pinkett Smith reflected. “Every time we might see each some other [over time] we were always cordial along with always nice, however the item was always tension.”
Union recalled how, several years ago, she’d found herself distanced by all of her closest friends along with, after seeking help by life coach AJ Johnson, realized which she’d “been communicating through negativity, along with shrinking some other people [while] hoping which I’m growing.”

Earlier This kind of month, Union sat down with Hoda Kotb on the Today show, where she opened up about reforging her friendship with Pinkett Smith, as well as moving past her life’s many struggles along with hardships.
“Finally, at 44, I found my self-worth. along with I began saying, ‘I want more joy, peace along with grace in my life,'” she told Kotb. “along with so no matter what comes in my life, whether which’s friendships, relationships, business opportunities, the item all has to encompass joy, peace along with grace. along with everything has changed.”
Union also said which her falling out with Pinkett Smith was never the dramatic feud which people believed the item to be, however which the item grew worse over time due to the media spotlight.
“Jada nor I never used the word ‘feud,’ so the item just became more of a media creation. Kind of like, back from the day, neither one of us actually knows what took place back then,” she explained. “however the people which we had around us were like, ‘Well, you know how she feels about you,’ along with they were like, ‘Well, you know how she feels about you.’ along with then the item was like, ‘OK, girl, bye.’ For 17 years.”
